Challenge

SoFi Stadium is a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue located in Inglewood, California. The leadership for this high-profile venue set ambitious goals for sustainability and the fan experience. To ensure that the venue opened without a hitch, SoFi Stadium’s management team wanted to engage its facility partners before opening day.

Bringing in facility partners early on that could help navigate the uncertainty became critical when the pandemic created additional hurdles.

Early Engagement from ɫ����Experts

ɫ����joined the SoFi Stadium team six months before opening day to help ease construction headaches and get familiar with the facility. ABM’s chief engineer worked on site to provide input on building components and systems, assist with inspections, and collaborate with the various subcontractors working on the venue.

• Advocate for the venue: Even the best construction teams can overlook details in their effort to keep the project on schedule and on budget. ɫ����provided an extra layer of oversight to ensure proper procedures were followed.
• Become experts in the facility’s critical systems: Because ɫ����saw how the ductwork, piping, and wiring were laid out, the engineering team has deeper insight into the inner workings of the building, making maintenance decisions faster and more accurate.
• Set SOPs before opening: It was critical for SoFi Stadium’s management team to have full operating plans before opening day. ɫ����created standard operating procedures and a full operating plan to deliver before doors opened.
• Be ready to work on Day One: Being in the facility before it opened gave ɫ����an advantage. Staff were hired and onboarded well before opening so Day One went smoothly.

• Twenty-five members of ABM’s staff were hired and onboarded during construction, ensuring they all were ready to work on opening day. ɫ����also trained security personnel, concessions staff, and facility operations teams on how to use some of the building equipment and systems.
• Because ɫ����was there while many of the stadium’s one-of-a-kind features were being constructed, the chief engineer was able to advise venue management on the best way to maintain them.
